Home - Soapberry Bugs of the World

Hosts

Host records were gathered by Dr. Scott Carroll and Dr. Jenella Loye from field observations, museum collections, and published accounts. Nonsapind plant records tagged with museum specimens (e.g., common native or agricultural plants such as Eucalyptus and Acacia in Australia, or cotton on multiple continents) and agriculturally valuable sapinds (e.g., Lychee and Longan) are not included as hosts. This is because these plants, if actually used at all by soapberry bugs, are not verified as being used for anything more than nonreproductive maintenance.
